Do you know what the Honda Tailored Service Program is?

The Honda Tailored Service Program is made up of two parts; Base Service and Adaptive Service. The program which is available nationally through all Authorised Honda Dealers, contains a Service Price Guide for all Honda vehicles up to 5 years or 100,000km from first date of registration (whichever occurs first).*

What this means is that if your vehicle is eligible, you’ll know exactly what you’ll pay for during a service- there are no surprises.


The Base Service

Whenever you take your vehicle to get serviced there are a variety of items that require attention. Honda’s base service covers a comprehensive list of items that include important safety checks such as


  • Brake hoses and lines

  • Checking exhaust system

  • Inspecting tyre condition

  • Checking wiper operation

  • Testing front and rear brakes

  • Inspecting suspension components

  • Checking fuel tank

  • Replacing engine oil (& oil filter every 12 months)

  • Vehicle electronic operating systems

  • Tie rod ends, steering gearbox and boots

  • Drive shaft boots

  • Level & condition of all fluids & lubricants

  • Check headlights, tail lights, indicators, reversing lights and brake lights


All of these are essential checks and will be thoroughly covered in our base service. 


To determine when you should take your vehicle into a Honda Authorised Dealer for a service, please refer to your Owner’s Warranty and Service Manual under the section titled ‘Normal Periodic Maintenance Schedule’. You can also use the Service Price Guide to help determine how much you should expect to pay for your service.*


Adaptive Service

Because everyone’s driving style is different, adaptive service requirements are personalised to meet the individual needs of the car. This ensures that you’re only replacing specific parts when needed, saving you money.

Adaptive service items are certain factory service items that are only replaced at a specific time or kilometres travelled. 

If you’re often driving long distances - such as heading to the countryside or the coast - you may be covering more kilometres than the average driver and may require certain servicing changes sooner than others. Honda Tailored Servicing ensures that you make the required changes at the appropriate times.

If you don't drive as much, adaptive items will only be changed when it’s necessary. This ensures your car will constantly maintain safety and reliability no matter how you drive.


Adaptive items include:

  • Cabin pollen filters (varies by model)

  • Engine air filters (every 60,000kms)

  • Brake fluid (every 3yrs)

  • Spark plugs (every 100,000kms)

  • Fuel filter (varies by model)

  • Engine coolant (every 10 yrs or 200,000kms)

  • Transmission fluid


When you book in a scheduled service with an Authorised Honda Dealer, the quote will include the base items as well as the necessary adaptive items at the time of service.

Once again, refer to the Service Price Guide or your Owners Warranty and Service Manual to determine the cost and frequency that your adaptive items need to be replaced.


Additional Costs

As is the nature with cars, you’re bound to experience a bit of wear and tear. 

When you take your car in for Honda Tailored Servicing you’ll know exactly what you’re getting in our base and adaptive services quote. Further items may require attention and these items will be quoted separately.


Additional costs include but aren’t limited to

  • Wiper blades

  • Light bulbs

  • Brake Pads

  • Tyres


We’ll identify these items during your scheduled service and contact you to discuss the necessary work and pricing. All additional costs will require your approval before we begin work.
