Some Honda vehicles may be affected by a Takata airbag inflator recall in the future. This means that your vehicle is not yet currently under an active recall, but it will be in the future. For recalls with a Recall Initiation Date of 31 January 2020, these Vehicles had airbag inflator recalls completed earlier in the Takata airbag recall, and were fitted with a new PSAN Takata airbag inflator. At that time, the cause of misdeployment was not understood. When Honda Australia became aware that these inflators were to be recalled again in the future, it ceased the use of replacement Takata airbag inflators. Unfortunately, these inflators will need to be replaced in the future.
All vehicles affected by this recall, regardless of their age and geographical location, will be recalled at the same time.
In accordance with the ACCC Mandatory Recall, Honda Australia has prepared the following Recall Initiation Schedule that provides information in relation to all planned future recalls of Affected Takata Airbag Inflators fitted to Honda Vehicles. Honda Australia has written to customers affected by these future planned recalls, and will seek to contact affected customers directly again at the relevant time. Honda Australia will be unable to contact you if your contact details are not available to us. If your contact details have changed, please contact us to update them as soon as possible, or call the Honda Australia Recall Contact Centre on 1800 789 839 (free call) Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm AEST.
