On Saturday 1st February 2020, Honda Australia and Cassel’s Honda will hold a community barbeque at the Warwick Showground providing free water and food for all the families who purely rely on tank water only in the Warwick and Stanthorpe region.

This entire area is experiencing the worst drought on record affecting the region in many ways. The Honda Foundation will donate over $7,000 to provide food and water for the Warwick and Stanthorpe region.

The entire regional community has been impacted, having run out of water and Warwick poised to follow in the same direction if no significant rain falls in the area.

The local economy is down as a result of a much lower than expected income from the farming region in the area with failed crops and the destocking of the majority of pastoral properties.

The additional threat of bushfires impacting the region is also extremely high due to the conditions.

“The Australian community is coming together in support of those doing it tough in some regions across the country who are experiencing drought or bushfires. The Honda Foundation is pleased to be able to help these communities with this donation.” says Mr. Stephen Collins, Director of Honda Australia and Chairman of the Board of The Honda Foundation.

Currently, lack of water is a major issue for those in the Warwick region who utilise tank water only, with weekly water drops made available to them in the local community and surrounding pastoral properties.
