CareFlight Benefits from The Honda Foundation Donation

The Honda Foundation and Trivett Classic Honda Paramatta have donated more than $9,000 of medical monitoring equipment to CareFlight to enhance its emergency helicopter response service for trauma patients in Greater Sydney.

“The Honda Foundation is pleased to to support CareFlight in its charitable objectives which will help more than 5,000 patients in need of urgent medical assistance every year,” Chairman of The Honda Foundation, Mr. Stephen Collins said.

The demand for CareFlight critical care is rapidly increasing. CareFlight has been the flagship rapid-response emergency helicopter service for Greater and Metropolitan Sydney, Darwin, Katherine, Gove and Nhulunbuy for more than 30 years.

It now operates the busiest specialist rescue helicopter in Australia and responds to over 300 unique incidents a year.

The Honda Foundation’s donation will allow CareFlight to purchase reliable and light-weight mobile monitoring tools, including Capnographs and Oximeters, to assist in the retrieval, stabilisation and transportation of critically ill patients to hospital.

CareFlight spokesperson, Andrea Phillips, said the medical equipment funded by the Honda Foundation will benefit over 16,000 patients and was a wonderful gift.

“The generous support of the Honda Foundation keeps us flying to the rescue, and we thank the Honda Foundation for helping us continue to save lives and serve the community.”

The Honda Foundation aims to provide assistance to local communities and foster goodwill among Honda Australia, Honda Motor Vehicle Dealers and the public. It draws funding from Honda Dealers and Honda Australia.

The Honda Foundation’s Honda Heroes loan vehicle program supports charitable organisations through a fleet of loan vehicles, assisting with activities for the disadvantaged, disabled or those suffering from illness.
