“The Honda Foundation is delighted to be providing a range of Honda power products to assist Gateways Support Services in the maintenance of its new facility” said Chairman of The Honda Foundation, Mr. Stephen Collins. “We are proud to support the wonderful work they do in our local community.”

Spanning four locations in Melbourne’s Western suburbs, Gateways Support Services is a community organisation that assists 1,500 children and adults with disabilities and their families. It offers childhood intervention, therapy, respite and recreation programs as well as supported accommodation to ensure those with special needs are well supported throughout all aspects of their lives.

The donation includes the following Honda power equipment products: lawn mower, brush cutter, blower, hedge cutter, face shields and leg protectors.

“Thanks to the generous support of Honda, we now have the gardening equipment we need to beautifully maintain our gardens and outdoor areas so children and adults  with a disability can spend time playing, enjoying and working in the garden areas,” said Gateways Support Services CEO, Rosemary Malone. “This equipment can also help teach many of our clients new life skills, and already it’s wonderful to see the pride and increased self-esteem they are getting from helping with activities including mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges and keeping the gardens tidy.”
