Odyssey Makes Australia's Best Cars history

6 December 2007

For the fourth consecutive year, Australia’s major motoring clubs have named Honda’s Odyssey Luxury as the Best People Mover -- the first four-year winning streak in the award’s history.

The Honda Odyssey Luxury soundly defeated its competition including the Kluger, Grandis, Sata Fe, C4 and the Avensis to claim the Australia’s Best Cars - Best People Mover award. The current-model Odyssey Luxury has won the award each year since debuting in 2004.

The Australia’s Best Cars judging panel said “Honda’s Odyssey has always been a purpose-built and purposeful people mover and it shows. It also combines all the crucial qualities - well-used space, flexibility, finish - with car-like handling.”

“Don’t be fooled by the low-riding, compact appearance of the Odyssey, as it has more usable cabin space than many of the larger-looking vehicles in the class.”

Honda Australia Managing Director and CEO, Yasuhide Mizuno, thanked the Australia’s Best Cars judges for the award.

“Australia’s Best Cars is a true customer-focused award,” he said. “They judge the car on what matter most to our customers.”

“We are pleased to win the award again and we will continue selling cars with quality and value.”

Honda’s Odyssey is available in two models - Odyssey or Odyssey Luxury.

Both models feature a frugal 2.4-litre 118kW i-VTEC engine, seat seven people in comfort, car-like ride and handling and have comprehensive safety equipment.

The Australia’s Best Cars awards are awarded by nine technical experts from the seven state and territory Auto clubs: NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC, RACT and AANT.
