Honda CR-V Still 'Cheapest to Run'

1 July 2008

For the third year running, the Honda CR-V has been crowned the cheapest to run compact SUV in the RACV Vehicle Operating Costs Survey for 2008.

The CR-V beat the Nissan X-Trail, Subaru Forester and Toyota RAV4 (in Victoria and Tasmania).

The weekly costs for the Honda CR-V came in at $214.08.

Senior Director of Honda Australia, Mr. Lindsay Smalley said this was welcome news for families who are faced with tight budgets.

“The CR-V is a clear winner for families who need a reliable family car but are struggling under the pressure of increasing fuel, grocery and education costs.

“The CR-V range is very popular, with sales of 13,884 over the last 12 months*. It fits well within many family budgets, with a starting price of $31,990. The CR-V combines space and functionality with progressive, sporty styling.” Mr. Smalley said.

The RACV survey compares running costs over a five year period and incorporates a number of variables that include finance, depreciation, scheduled services, registration and insurance, to name a few.
